La force gravitationnelle est l’interaction entre deux corps qui crée une attraction entre les deux.
C’est ce qui fait que lorsqu’on saute, on retombe ensuite, car on est attiré par la Terre.
The gravitational strength is the interaction between two bodies which creates an attraction between both of them.
That’s why when we jump, we come back to the ground afterwards, because we’re attracted by the Earth.
La force gravitationnelle sur Mars est différente de celle sur la Terre : elle est environ 3 fois plus élevée sur notre planète ; sur Mars, elle est de 3,7 m/s² (newtons N) environ, et elle est de 9,7 m/s² sur Terre. Il faut donc s’adapter à cette différence.
The gravitational strength on Mars is different than the Earthen’s : it is around 3 times higher on our planet ; on Mars, it is close to 3,7 m/s² (newtons N) , and 9,7 m/s² on the Earth. Therefore, we need to adapt ourselves to that difference.
Les os grandissent, et se fragilisent (ostéoporose), lorsque la force gravitationnelle est faible. Pour lutter contre cette fragilisation des os, une alimentation riche en calcium et des exercices physiques intenses et réguliers sont nécessaires.
Il faudra que les astronautes apprennent à se déplacer avec cette force gravitationnelle faible où les mouvements sont plus faciles à faire, où tout semble plus léger. Cette adaptation passe par un bon entrainement sur le sol terrestre.
The bones grow, and weaken themselves (osteoporosis), when the gravitational strength is low. To fight against this process of bones’ weakness, a calcium rich alimentation and intense and regular physical exercises are necessary.
The astronauts will have to learn how to move with this low gravitational force where the movements are easier to make, where everything seems lighter. This adaptation comes with a good training on the Earthen’s ground.
